Frequently Asked Questions
Does The Type Chart require an account?
No. Open the app and get started. Your favorites, saved searches, teams, notes, settings, and learning progress stay on your device.
Can I use The Type Chart offline?
Yes. The Pokédex, battle tools, Team Builder, Type Academy, Practice, and Victory Road are designed to work offline. An internet connection is still required for App Store purchases, restoring purchases, checking for app updates, and opening external links.
What’s included for free?
The Pokédex, matchup tools, Team Builder, Type Academy, Practice, and Victory Road are free. The Type Chart Pro is an optional one-time purchase that adds advanced analysis, expanded Champions insights, offline team sharing, additional saved teams, Pokédex search presets, deeper learning statistics, and alternate app icons.
How do I restore The Type Chart Pro?
Open Settings, choose The Type Chart Pro, then select Restore Purchases. Make sure your device is signed in to the Apple Account used for the original purchase.
Why is a Pokémon, move, or other option unavailable?
Pokémon, forms, moves, and mechanics vary between games and formats. Choose the game or format you’re using first. Unsupported choices remain unavailable so your results stay accurate.
How does Champions Mode work?
Add your lineup and the opposing Pokémon, choose singles or doubles, and optionally apply the current supported regulation. Champions Mode evaluates matchups and suggests practical picks using available moves, abilities, held items, team roles, and battle conditions. Its recommendations are guidance—not guaranteed battle outcomes.
Can I move a team to another device?
The Type Chart does not use an account or cloud sync. With The Type Chart Pro, you can share and import individual teams using QR share cards or offline team codes.
How do I delete my app data?
Open Settings › Preferences › App Data, then choose Clear Favorites or Reset App Data. Deleting the app also removes its locally stored data.
